AU Industries manufactures rubber rolls and provides roller recovering services from our facility in Boksburg. Our rolls are produced using proprietary compounds developed for specific industrial applications.

Products

Rubber Sheeting Rolls

We manufacture rolls of rubber sheeting in our standard compounds:

  • AU 40 Shore Natural Rubber (Red & Black) — slurry pipe and tank lining
  • AU 60 Shore Natural Rubber (Red & Black) — impact and gouge resistance
  • AU A38 Pink — premium high-wear compound
  • Bromobutyl — chemical and acid resistance
  • Nitrile — oil and fuel resistance

Rolls are available in standard widths and custom widths to order. Thickness ranges from 3mm to 25mm depending on compound type.

Roller Recovering

We provide roller re-covering services for industrial rollers used in:

  • Conveyor systems — drive rollers, guide rollers, pinch rollers
  • Printing and packaging — impression rollers, feed rollers
  • Steel processing — tension rollers, levelling rollers
  • Paper and board — press rollers, coating rollers

Rollers are stripped, inspected, and re-covered with the appropriate rubber compound. We can match existing specifications or recommend improved compounds for longer service life.

Manufacturing

All rubber rolls are manufactured on our industrial mills in Boksburg. We control the full process from compound mixing through to sheeting, ensuring consistent quality and thickness across every roll.

Branding and Packaging

AU Industries rolls are wrapped in branded packaging with batch identification for traceability. Each roll is labelled with compound type, hardness, thickness, and production date.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you re-cover existing rubber rollers?+
Yes. We provide roller re-covering services where existing rollers are stripped, inspected, and re-covered with the appropriate rubber compound. We re-cover conveyor rollers (drive, guide, pinch), printing and packaging rollers, steel processing rollers, and paper/board press rollers.
What rubber compounds are available for rollers?+
Our standard roller compounds are AU 40 Shore (red and black), AU 60 Shore (red and black), AU A38 pink premium, premium 60 Shore pink high-silica, bromobutyl for chemical resistance, and nitrile for oil/fuel resistance. We can also formulate custom compounds for specific applications.
What's the lead time for roller recovering?+
Standard re-covers typically take 1–2 weeks once the roller arrives at our Boksburg facility. Critical-path rollers can be expedited — let us know your requirements when requesting a quote.
Can you supply rubber rolls in custom widths and thicknesses?+
Yes. Sheeting rolls are produced in our Boksburg mill with full control over both width and thickness. Standard rolls are 1200mm wide × 12m long; custom widths from 800mm up to 1450mm can be produced. Standard thicknesses are 3mm to 25mm; dimensions outside these ranges can be produced on request.
