Frequently Asked Questions
General questions about AU Industries — quotes, payment terms, delivery, warranties, and account opening. For service-specific questions (rubber lining hardness, HDPE sizes, lead times etc.) see the FAQ section at the bottom of each service page.
How do I get a quote from AU Industries?+
You can request a quote in three ways: use the online quote form at /quote and provide product details — we'll respond within 24–72 hours depending on the complexity and size of the RFQ; email info@auind.co.za with your specifications; or call +27 72 039 8429 to speak with our sales team. For complex applications (custom rubber compounds, full mining projects, lining specifications) we recommend a site visit so our technical team can specify the right product before pricing.
What payment terms do you offer?+
All new customers transact on payment upfront / pro-forma basis. 30-day credit accounts are available for South African customers only, subject to credit application and reference checks. Cross-border orders (Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and other African destinations) are payment upfront regardless of order history.
Do you have minimum order quantities?+
For standard regular 40 Shore compounds there is no minimum order quantity — we supply individual spares from stock, full project orders, and everything in between. Custom or non-standard compounds may carry a minimum order based on the rubber volume needed for the job, due to mill batch economics. We'll confirm any minimum at the time of quoting.
Do you deliver across Southern Africa?+
Yes. We deliver across South Africa (all provinces) as well as to Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. Project-based work in West and East Africa (Tanzania, Burkina Faso, DRC, Ghana) is also available. Delivery is quoted at the time of order based on destination, weight, and urgency.
Can I visit your factory in Boksburg?+
Yes — we welcome customer visits to our Boksburg facility at 50 Paul Smit Street, ALAC Industrial Park (Cnr Main Street), Dunswart, Boksburg, 1508. Please make an appointment prior to your visit so we can have the right person available to walk you through. Open Monday to Thursday and Friday morning per standard business hours.
Do you offer site visits and technical consultations?+
Yes. Our technical team conducts site visits across South Africa and neighbouring countries to assess equipment, review operating conditions (particle size, pH, temperature, flow rate), and recommend the correct rubber compound and lining method. Site visits are particularly valuable for new applications, custom compound development, or troubleshooting premature wear failures.
What's the warranty on your rubber products?+
We stand behind our products against manufacturing defects. Specific warranty terms vary by product and application — for example, rubber lining warranties depend on the operating conditions and surface preparation specifications agreed at the time of installation. We confirm warranty terms in writing on each quote and order.
How do I open an account with AU Industries?+
Contact our accounts department at info@auind.co.za or +27 72 039 8429 to request an account application form. Standard requirements include: company registration documents, BEE certificate (if applicable), VAT registration, two trade references, and one bank reference. Account approval typically takes 2–4 weeks depending on reference response times.
What industries does AU Industries serve?+
Our primary focus is mining, with deep expertise in rubber wear solutions, fabrication, and lining for mineral processing operations. We also supply chemical processing plants, water treatment facilities, ports and harbours, and general industrial customers. Our compound range covers slurry, chemical, oil/fuel, and impact-wear applications — applicable to most heavy industries.
How long has AU Industries been operating?+
AU Industries has been in operation since October 2020. While the company itself is relatively young, our team brings over 40 years of combined industry experience to every project. AU Industries is BEE Level 4 certified and supplies operations across Southern and East Africa.
