AU 40 Black Lined Pipes & Fittings — Namibia Uranium Mine

AU Industries supplied a complete set of rubber lined pipes and fittings for a uranium mining operation in Namibia. The lining package was specified for a leach-circuit slurry line carrying uranium-bearing ore.
The challenge
Uranium ore slurries combine fine abrasive particulates with corrosive process chemistry, and unlined carbon steel will not last in the leach circuit. The customer needed a chemically resistant abrasion liner with a known service history.
Our solution
We lined the pipes and fittings with AU 40 Black natural rubber, our standard abrasion-resistant compound. Lining thickness, end laps, and flange faces were specified to suit autoclave processing and bolted assembly on site.
